Helicopter Rides for $25

Texas Rotor & Wing is providing helicopter rides for as low as $25.00!!!

We are providing helicopter rides in the Old Mills Marketplace, located in Canton, TX. Helicopter rides are provided during every First Monday Trade Days event. Hours of operation vary, starting on Fridays at noon through Sunday afternoon. Closing time each day varies, usually ending around 6 pm.

Now everyone can enjoy the thrill of helicopter rides. The standard ride (3 people, $25.00 a person), lasts approximately 5 minutes, flying over the First Monday grounds.

Persons interested in longer flights will be accommodated. Pricing is determined with the length of flight requested.

History of First Monday – Canton Trade Days

If Canton Trade Days actually occurs on the weekend, why is it called “First Monday Trade Days?” The answer to that question begins in the 1850s, when a circuit judge would make his monthly rounds to Canton. He held court on the First Monday of every month, and people traveled from the surrounding areas to watch court proceedings and hangings. This monthly event was also a natural time for people to buy, sell and trade all kinds of goods at the Town Square (it is said that, at one point, even wild horses were traded). The tradition of First Monday Trade Days continued for over a hundred years. In 1965, the event had grown too large for the Town Square and was moved to a six-acre area north of the Canton courthouse.

Nearly 200 years later, the legacy of Canton Trade Days continues. And even though the event no longer actually occurs on Monday, the name “First Monday Trade Days” remains as a tribute to Canton’s rich tradition. When you come to Canton Trade Days, you not only enjoy an incredible variety of shopping, foods, lodging, and fun, but you also get to take part in a piece of history.
